Looking north-east to Putney houses.
Looking south to Mortlake Point (trees at left) and Majors Bay and gardens of Yaralla House (right).
Kissing Point ferry wharf.
Looking south-west to Rivendell.
Looking north-west up Parramatta River. Trust us that you're seeing Rocky Point (far left), then Uhrs Point and the Ryde Bridge.
View north back to Bennelong Park from the Kissing Point ferry wharf.

Name believed to have originated from the way in which heavily laden boats passing up the Parramatta River bumped or ‘kissed’ the rocky outcrop which extends into the river at the point. (Source: History of Ryde)

Another explanationGovernor attended a picnic, fell asleep and was kissd awake.

Busy point, with good view of Rivendell and its gorgeous water gate.
