Was once called Dinner Point. Might have got its name from First Lieutenant William Bradley who with Captain John Hunter on Tuesday 5 February 1788 rowed the upper part of the Harbour with armed marines and after breakfasting at Breakfast Point returned and had dinner at Dinner Point. Lucky there’s not a Morning Tea Point, Quick Pee Point or Spread The Pox Point.
Indigenous name is Mur-ray-mah (black bream).
Used to be more point-like, backed by a creek, but it’s now all filled in and covered with swings and things. Kind of nice with play equipment and picnic benches and cycle track.
