Little gem of a point, quiet and secluded… perhaps too secluded. Writer and poet Barcroft Boake hanged himself here, only found 10 days after he disappeared.
Soon after came the Folly Point Treatment Works – remnants of the North Shore’s biggest sewage works at the time can be seen in nearby Primrose Park, now a good spot for kids flying kites and riding bikes.
