Cabarita Park was full of large families having picnics in the shady pavilions. But the actual point kind of fizzles out to a marina.
There’s an obelisk erected to perpetuate the memory of William Beach, undefeated champion sculler of the world, listing the people he thrashed along the way. He should have been a lifesaver with a name like that. There’s another plaque with extensive Parramatta River rowing history, plus at least 8 rowing and sailing sheds and clubs within cox-throwing distance. I think they like their rowing round these parts.
